Tom Campbell obit.

Thomas G. Campbell, of 133 Juniata Parkway East, Newport, PA, died Sunday, September 9, 2012 at his home. He was 56.
Mr. Campbell was born March 20, 1956 in Harrisburg, PA, the son of the late Leonard C. and Francis M. Neely Campbell.
He was a retired Operating Engineer for the Local #542.
He is survived by a daughter, Becci Campbell of Landisburg; a Brother, Kenneth Campbell and his wife Jody of Newport; a sister, Kathy A. Cantlin of Newport; and 1 grandchild.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, September 12, 2012 in the David M. Myers Funeral Home, 64, N. 2nd. Street, Newport, PA; visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in the Newport Cemetery. Rev. Mary Kay Miller will be officiating.

2010 Reunion

Remember. This year's reunion is the Saturday after Thanksgiving. It will be at the Millerstown Moose. The reunion committee is meeting soon so we'll have all the details shortly. My goal is to locate everybody from the class and I can't do it alone. So if you know where folks are, let us know. John Stoak Passing

Lori Reigle informed me that John Stoak passed away last week. Here is the Obit.

JOHN D. STOAK

John D. Stoak, 53, died Thursday, April 15, 2010 at his home in Miller Twp., Duncannon.

He was born July 5, 1956.

He worked for the Naval Depot in New Cumberland; was a 1975 graduate of Newport High School; an Army veteran; and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Surviving are a daughter, Jessica McNaughton of Millerstown; his mother, Eva B. Steele of Liverpool; three brothers, Richard Stoak Jr. of York Springs, James Stoak of Duncannon, and Charles Steele of York Haven, three sisters, Wanda Caldwell of Ft. McCoy, Fla., Debra Roush of Gardners and Brenda Murling of Liverpool; and a grandson.

He was preceded in death by his father, Richard L. Stoak Sr.

Burial, with military honors by New Bloomfield VFW 7463, was in Newport Cemetery.

David Myers Funeral Home, Loysville, handled arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Central Pennsylvania, 1320 Linglestown Road, Harrisburg 17110.

Joseph L. ''Lefty'' Campbell

NEWPORT: Joseph L. "Lefty" Campbell, 81 years old, of Newport, passed away Thursday, October 8, 2009 in the Harrisburg Hospital. He was born November 29, 1927 In Newport, the son of the late Lester and Annie (Holley) Campbell. He was an Army Veteran. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing cards, and raising homing pigeons.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, June (Snyder) Campbell, his daughters, Wendy Campbell of Newport, Roxy Reynolds and husband, Kevin of Mechanicsburg, Kathy Collins and husband, James of Newport, brothers, Ronald Billman of Millersburg and Darry Campbell of Newport, sisters, Betty Ford, Bonnie Gantt and Sandy Comp of Newport and Ruth Ann Yohn of Millerstown, grandchildren, Tara, Justin, Joseph, Lindsay and Zachary and great grandchildren, Tessa, Devan, Daphne, and Rachel. He was preceded in death by his step mother, Carrie Gardner Campbell, son, Randy Campbell, daughter, Terry Dick, brothers, James, Oscar, Gilbert and Anthony Campbell , sister, Lorraine "Sis" Martin, grandson, Jacob Collins and great granddaughter, Chloe Blose.
Services will be held on Wednesday from Newport First Church of God with the funeral at 11 AM with the Reverend Cheryl Dorman officiating. There is a viewing from 10-11 AM. Burial will follow in the Newport Cemetery with full military honors by the New Bloomfield VFW #7463.
In lieu of flowers, contributions are requested to Odyssey Healthcare, 4660 Trindle Rd Suite 204, Camp Hill, PA 17011.

Larry Britcher Obit

Larry A. Britcher

NEWPORT - Larry A. Britcher, 52, of Juniata Township, Newport, died Friday, June 13, 2008.
He was born March 20, 1956, to Paul E. and Ruth (Hower) Britcher.

He worked for H. R. Wentzel & Sons, and previously for the Hempt and Amity Farms.
He was a member of Church of Christ and Community Grange, both in Newport; ITPA Trottingbred Association; PA Breeders; and Twin Maple Racing Association. Larry was an avid pony racer and ferrier and enjoyed hunting.

Surviving are his mother, Ruth Britcher of Newport; his loving and devoted companion, Susan Mintonye of Newport and her family; brothers, Paul E. Britcher, Jr. of Newport and Lee M. Britcher of Elliottsburg; sisters, Martha G. Ebersole of Duncannon and Isabelle N. Lee of Newport.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., on Tuesday, from the David Myers Funeral Home, Newport. Viewings will be held on Monday from 6-8 p.m. and from 10 a.m., Tuesday, until time of service, both at the funeral home. Burial in the Newport Cemetery.
