John Stoak Passing

Lori Reigle informed me that John Stoak passed away last week. Here is the Obit.

JOHN D. STOAK

John D. Stoak, 53, died Thursday, April 15, 2010 at his home in Miller Twp., Duncannon.

He was born July 5, 1956.

He worked for the Naval Depot in New Cumberland; was a 1975 graduate of Newport High School; an Army veteran; and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Surviving are a daughter, Jessica McNaughton of Millerstown; his mother, Eva B. Steele of Liverpool; three brothers, Richard Stoak Jr. of York Springs, James Stoak of Duncannon, and Charles Steele of York Haven, three sisters, Wanda Caldwell of Ft. McCoy, Fla., Debra Roush of Gardners and Brenda Murling of Liverpool; and a grandson.

He was preceded in death by his father, Richard L. Stoak Sr.

Burial, with military honors by New Bloomfield VFW 7463, was in Newport Cemetery.

David Myers Funeral Home, Loysville, handled arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Central Pennsylvania, 1320 Linglestown Road, Harrisburg 17110.

Wow! Hadn't checked the site for a while. All bad news, it seems. First Steve, now John. I remember getting in a car once with Steve, it was the last. John used to harrass me and ask me " If I told you had a beautiful body, would you hold it against me?" Those were the days, oh, how I miss them! For whatever reason, the class of 75 is not long lived. We have lost way too many!
