Message from Jodi (Baumbach) Eber

Dear Class of 1975.

I am really sorry I am going to miss the reunion. I live in Florida and just flew back 2 weeks ago. Unfortunately I did not know about the reunion before or I would have scheduled my trip for the reunion weekend.

Anyway, it is hard to believe that it has been thirty years and that I am closing in on 50. I still feel and I must say act like I am in my twenty’s. A lot of things have happened in my life since graduating. I married, lived on a boat in Baltimore for 3 years, divorced after 15 years and have been remarried for 12 years. My husband and I moved from Baltimore to Port Saint Lucie, FL where we have been living for a little over 2 years. We moved down right before the 2 hurricanes hit last year. Fortunately, we did not have any damage because our new house was built to all of the latest building codes. It was an experience though and I must say during the first hurricane I went into our “safe” room, the bedroom closet. Even with the risk of hurricanes we have absolutely no regrets moving here. It is just beautiful and we love the weather. Even in the summer.

I lost my best friend, my mother, suddenly two years ago and it has been 5 years since my father passed. My mother went into the hospital one month after I moved down and was diagnosed with cancer and died within 5 days. I desperately miss them both and wish I could turn back time and bring them back.

I have my commercial insurance agents license and work for an agency in Tequesta. I have been in this business for 25 years. As jobs goes, it is a good carreer. My husband, Rick is self employed in the auto business. He had is own business in Baltimore and Pennsylania for twenty years. It was a little scary for him at first starting his business up again from scratch. We use to joke that if it didn’t work out, he could always be a greeter at Walmart. Fortunately, he was able to get into several dealerships and his business is doing really well.
